MIDWEST CITY — Interstate 40 westbound between Choctaw Road and Hudiburg Drive is now open, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation announced. Crews continue to work on eastbound I-40, which remains closed between Shields Boulevard and Anderson Road, for continued cleanup after the removal of the Engle Road bridge just west of the I-40 and Douglas Boulevard interchange. Eastbound I-40 remains closed up to 5:30 a.m. Monday. More than $170 million is being spent to rebuild I-40 at Douglas Boulevard into a single-point urban interchange.
